A day to remember
On his first day, Hamilton shared his excitement on social media, posting a striking image of himself in a sleek black suit, standing beside a Ferrari F40 - an emblem of the brand's legacy.
Accompanying the photo, Hamilton expressed, “There are some days that you know you’ll remember forever, and today, my first as a Ferrari driver, is one of those days. I’ve always dreamed of racing in red, and I couldn’t be happier to realise that dream today.”
Hamilton's initiation into the Ferrari family included a packed schedule.
Welcomed by Team Principal Fred Vasseur and CEO Benedetto Vigna, the Briton toured the Fiorano test track, Enzo Ferrari's historic office, and various departments at Maranello.
His "immersion programme" also included meeting Ferrari Vice Chairman Piero Ferrari and undergoing seat fittings and simulator sessions.
The veteran driver expressed gratitude to Ferrari’s leadership, saying, “I’m incredibly grateful to John Elkann, Benedetto Vigna, Fred Vasseur, and everyone at Ferrari for their trust in me. I’m excited to work with such a talented and inspiring team.”
A fresh start
Hamilton’s move to Ferrari comes after a challenging final season with Mercedes, where he finished seventh in the championship despite managing two victories.
He steps into the seat vacated by Carlos Sainz, who has joined Williams, and will now partner with Charles Leclerc.
Ferrari has not claimed a driver’s title since 2007, but the team hopes Hamilton’s experience and drive will change that in the 2025 season.
The Briton is set to get behind the wheel of the Ferrari F1-75, the car used during the 2022 season, on January 22 at Fiorano.
The testing will be broadcast live, giving fans a chance to witness the beginning of Hamilton’s journey in red.
Ferrari will unveil their 2025 challenger on February 19, following the season launch event at the O2 Arena in London.

As Hamilton dons the legendary Ferrari red, the motorsport world watches eagerly, anticipating whether this partnership can revive the Scuderia’s championship aspirations and cement Hamilton's legacy even further.
