Premier League Darts news: Night 7 preview and predictions
As part of Sports News Blitz's ongoing Premier League Darts coverage, Joseph Hannen previews Night 7 in Cardiff, where Gerwyn Price looks to make the most of home advantage.
Last week in Nottingham saw some frighteningly good finishing from the PDC stars, with 14 100+ checkouts hit, Luke Littler with five.
But it was Price who prevailed for his second nightly win, shooting him back up to third place in the league.
Night 7 in Cardiff promises to deliver drama as home favourite Price will be desperate to build on last week's win.
Can Price deliver at home?
Home favourite Price has his eyes on Rob Cross in Cardiff’s final quarter-final, with both players impressing last week.
The Iceman dispatched Stephen Bunting, Michael Van Gerwen and Luke Littler to take maximum points from Nottingham, averaging 99.74 across the night.
A win for Price would guarantee another week in the top four against an opponent he has only met once in 2025, falling to a 7-3 defeat in January’s Dutch Darts Masters.
On the other hand, Cross can count himself unlucky to sit in 6th place. Voltage is averaging 99.86 across the season, the second highest among the players.
Cross breezed past Chris Dobey last week - 6/7 on the doubles and a 100.9 average - before losing his fourth straight semi-final, this time to Littler.
A close encounter is expected however Price will need the backing of the Cardiff crowd to close in on the top two.

New look leader
For the first time since Night 1, Luke Humphries does not sit at the summit.
His defeat in last week's quarter-final to Littler saw the teenager leapfrog him into first, dismantling his previous eight-point gap.
Littler found a magical 164 checkout to turn the tide of last week's match and averaged 100.15 in victory.
For Littler, it’s Nathan Aspinall in his way in the quarters who lost his first quarter-final in four weeks.
Littler remains the league’s best 180 hitter with 70 and holds the highest season average with 104.14.
He has won eight on the bounce against ‘The Asp’ in the Premier League, including three already this campaign.
Humphries has the chance to bounce back against Michael Van Gerwen who has won five quarter-finals but no semi-finals.
That form should be enough to see him finish in the top four, but the World No.4 will be pushing for more than a single win a week.
As for Humphries, it's 0 points in two nights after defeats to Cross and ‘The Nuke’ but that won’t panic the World No.1.
Now or never for the bottom two
The league table looks duller by the week if you're Dobey or Bunting as the pair have no wins in the last five nights between them.
However, Cardiff presents a golden chance for both players as they face off in the opening match of the night.
Last week was deja vu for Bunting as he recorded another strong performance, averaging 102.11 against Price in a 6-4 loss.
A loss for ‘The Bullet’ would mean he has faced off once against each player, losing every occasion.
Dobey was well beaten 6-2 last week by a sensational Cross performance and must shift his attention to a crucial match at the bottom.
Five points separate Dobey and Cross. Therefore, a win for Hollywood on Thursday would put him back in the mix as well as leaving Bunting five points adrift.

Cardiff order of play and predictions
The order of play for Night 7 is as follows:
Chris Dobey vs Stephen Bunting
Luke Humphries vs Michael Van Gerwen
Luke Littler vs Nathan Aspinall
Gerwyn Price vs Rob Cross
For a third time this season, I expect to see Littler and Humphries meet in the final.
Humphries could bounce back against Van Gerwen before brushing aside one of the league's bottom two.
As for the bottom two, Bunting may finally register a win to kickstart his campaign.
A ninth straight win for Littler over Aspinall is on the cards, while home hero Price may set up a showdown with the reigning World Champion.
Price has won five in a row against Littler, but that streak may come to an end in Cardiff.
