Real Madrid news: Kylian Mbappe rediscovers his magic as Real Madrid triumph over Las Palmas
Real Madrid proved their mettle as reigning champions, staging a commanding 3-1 comeback against Las Palmas after conceding an early goal from the visitors.
At the heart of their success was Kylian Mbappe, whose outstanding performance silenced critics and rekindled the spark that once made him the most sought-after player in world football.
Here, Sports News Blitz writer Nicole Powell breaks down how Mbappe’s brilliance turned the tide for Real Madrid and why this performance could mark a turning point in his career with Los Blancos.
Winning the Madrid way
Real Madrid conceded early with a shot from Fabio Silva but managed to turn their fate around as the game evolved.
Kylian Mbappe was the first of the Los Blancos to get his name on the scoresheet as he converted a penalty won by Rodrygo.
The Frenchman didn’t just stop there, continuously proving a threat to Las Palmas.
His audacious effort was hit by the gloves of Jasper Cillessen, with Lucas Vasquez and Brahim Diaz taking advantage of the loose ball, the latter netting the second Madrid goal.
Mbappe’s influence grew as the match progressed.
Just three minutes after Diaz's strike, the Frenchman doubled his tally, finishing off a clever assist from Rodrygo.
The second half saw the former PSG star find the back of the net again, with celebrations high as it was apparent that he had scored his first hattrick as a Real Madrid player.
The joyous chants were soon hashed, though, as the referee ruled it out for offside, a controversial call that Real Madrid TV has since duked as wrong.
Later on in the game, Federico Valverde scored a stunning goal but saw his attempt ruled out for offside too.
The fourth and final goal of the game came from Rodrygo during the second half. The Brazilian, much like Mbappe had a wonder of a performance throughout the 90’.

An all-star performance from Mbappe
Despite joining the La Liga side on a free transfer, Mbappe’s high value called for an instant impact at the club.
However, unlike Jude Bellingham who burst right into the scene on his debut, Mbappe struggled to find himself in his new side.
To the delight of many though, the winger has seemingly finally found his footing.
In Real Madrid’s dominant win against Las Palmas, Mbappe earned the Man of the Match award, and rightfully so as his performance was beyond phenomenal.
The winger not only exploited every opportunity, but he was also a playmaker, proving to be a vital piece to Carlo Ancelotti’s side that was missing Vinicius Jr. against Las Palmas.
Real Madrid played exactly as reigning champions should, and Mbappe fit right in.

Brighter days ahead
The result, coupled with his strong performance should be a much-needed confidence boost as the second half of the season heats up.
Mbappe is now second on the list for La Liga's top scorers, with 12 goals, just four behind Robert Levandowski.
Real Madrid are top of the La Liga standings, two points ahead of Atletico Madrid, and more importantly, seven points above Barcelona who have had a much more convincing season.
Should Los Blancos carry this momentum forward, they will have a strong chance of retaining the league title and revitalising their UEFA Champions League campaign.
