How many Instagram followers did Oleksandr Usyk gain after beating Tyson Fury?

Ukraine heavyweight Oleksandr Usyk gained 429,826 new Instagram followers after beating England’s Tyson Fury to become heavyweight champion on Saturday, May 18.

The boost in his following means Usyk can now earn an estimated $30,100 per Instagram post.

Morecambe motormouth Fury gained ‘only’ 31,880 in comparison, bringing his count to 7,041,407.

Research conducted by KingCasinoBonus.com analysed social media statistics for Usyk and Fury’s accounts to establish their growth on social media since the historic heavyweight fight in Saudi Arabia on Saturday night.

Usyk’s follower count surged by 429,826 in a single day on May 19, just after the bout concluded with his victory, proclaiming him the undisputed heavyweight champion.

The 37-year-old has held the WBA (Super), IBF, and WBO titles since 2021, the Ring magazine title since 2022, and the WBC title since May 18.

At the time of writing, his follower count was 2,557,687, up from 2.09 million before the fight, a 20% increase in one day.

Fury, who lost a 16-year undefeated streak with this defeat, has been the centre of some controversies since the match.

He stated that he had won the fight, suggesting the judges sided with Usyk because his country of origin, Ukraine, was currently at war.

A spokesperson for KingCasinoBonus.com said: “To become undisputed heavyweight champion is the peak of a boxer’s career, and Usyk’s name was due to benefit from it on all sides.

“With this victory, the 37-year-old has reached the boxing Olympus, becoming the first Ukrainian undisputed champion of history.”
