Premier League betting tips: Jamie Vardy to see yellow, Darwin Nunez to sink Saints
The Bookie Basher is back in business after getting restless during the international break, which saw Lee Carsley pass the England baton to Thomas Tuchel.
But let’s stop pretending we give two sh*&s about the Three Lions and the Nations League - the big dog is back and it’s time to turn our attention to the Premier League pedigree.
Sports News Blitz’s resident soccer tipster has a festival of footballing action to pick from, so let’s get on with it shall we…
Let’s get rambling
Welcome champs. I’ve been pacing around like a big cat in the zoo during the international break and am soooo ready to regale you with the good stuff in terms of scintillating Premier League punting content, so let’s get rambling.
Leicester City v Chelsea
The Blues have won their last three matches, as well as their last three in a row against the Foxes.
They have also plundered 19 points from their opening 11 matches and that’s probably the reason why they are 1/2 pokes here.
However, this won’t be a cakewalk. Leicester are doing OK and considering Jamie Vardy is now 37, it’s quite amazing he is still terror-ing Premier League defences on the regular.
Four goals in 10 matches so far this season, and you wouldn’t back against him scoring again this weekend.
However I really like the 11/2 bet365 are offering that he is booked against Chelsea. He already has three yellow cards in 10 matches so far this term so odds north of 5/1 look too big to ignore.
Suggested bet: Jamie Vardy to be booked at 11/2 (bet365)

Manchester City v Tottenham Hotspur
The Citizens are about as close to a crisis as they have ever been under Pep Guardiola.
City’s reliance on Erling Haaland up top and a porous defence is being blamed on their poor run of form, and it is four defeats in a row now.
However, I have another theory. It’s those Gallagher brothers.
For those who remember it, the 1990’s was some doo. Heavy boozing, even heavier monobrows, parka coats and anarchic behaviour. Yes kids, it was a crazy time.
Now is it just me or since Oasis said they were reforming, Manchester City’s form has turned to sh**e, almost like we were back to the late 90’s?
Pep will also be conscious they have only won two of their last five home games against Spurs, who drew 3-3 at the Etihad last season when the north Londoners were in the midst of a mood injury crisis.
Man City at 8/15 – even with a few players back from injury following the international break – still looks too short, and Tottenham to score more than once at 17/10 looks big given City’s recent defensive woes.
Let’s have it right though. Another defeat for Pep’s mob will not so much pour water on their title hopes but rather drenched them with a f***ing super soaker.
Suggested bet: Over 1.5 away goals at 17/10 (888 Sport)

Southampton v Liverpool
Darwin Nunez only has two Premier League goals this season, but he could have bagged a hat-trick last time out against Aston Villa and will fancy his chances of scoring against a Saints side who are bottom of the pile and conceding 1.9 goals per game in the league this season.
Having taken just four points in 11 matches, nobody needs telling that Southampton’s form has been honking for the most part this season, and this could get messy.
Nunez rocked the braids for Liverpool in a brief switch-up in hairstyle earlier this season, but while the braids were questionable his talent certainly isn’t - and 9/2 about him scoring first looks a play.
Suggested bet: Nunez to score first at 9/2 (Betfred / 888 sport)
Ipswich Town v Manchester United
Two wins and two cleans sheets before the international break for the Red Devils, who are 4/6 shots to win at Portman Road.
Green shoots of hope for the Tractor Boys, who are out of the bottom three having taken four points from the last six available.
I honestly can’t have Man United at odds on here given what we have seen so far this season. 4/6? I mean what in the 35p energy drink is going on here?
Suggested bet: Draw/Draw Half-time – Full-time at 6/1 (bet365)
