Golf betting tips: Tom Kim to rediscover his form at the Valero Texas Open

There’s one week to go until The Masters tees off at Augusta National - and the Valero Texas Open will serve as the 2025 edition’s curtain-raiser.

Congrats to everyone who was on board with the Min Woo Lee pick last weekend. The Australian played some phenomenal golf, and his maiden win has proven a big success for the golf betting community.

Looking ahead to this week, the Texas Open is played at the Oaks Course at TPC San Antonio, which is home to some of the trickiest greens on tour.

Complex and exotic multi-tiered layouts make dropping it close to the flag a must, while tightish fairways and stretching holes will punish any drives and approach shots that swerve off course.

Here, Sports News Blitz’s Sam Condy picks out four players to back ahead of this week's tournament in Texas.

Corey Conners

Looking at previous winners, minimising putting will be the key to success this week. The greens are tricky, and the less time spent on them, the better.

Corey Conners’ arrow-straight drives should prove pivotal in helping the Canadian put on a stellar performance in Texas, as shortening the approach play should result in far more favourable positions on the green.

Tom Kim

Tom Kim has struggled for form recently, going winless in his last 35 appearances worldwide.

However, his game suits the Greg Norman-designed course to a tee and the South Korean looks rejuvenated of late.

Ranking 14th and 19th in tee to green across TPC Sawgrass and Copperhead, his approach play prowess seems to be returning.

If he can find some form with the flat stick, Kim will no doubt find himself hovering around the top of the leaderboard come Sunday.

Daniel Berger

Daniel Berger is a man on form, enjoying five top-25s in a row. The American has struggled on this course previously, with missed cuts in both 2015 and 2019.

Despite a checkered past at the Oaks Course, the four-time PGA winner is a far different player nowadays, and his clean iron game and pinpoint accuracy with the big stick point to a solid performance in Texas this week.

Mac Meissner

Mac Meissner is certainly an underdog pick this week, but the SMU alumni finished T10 here last year and has kept his arm loose through 2025, with ten starts already under his belt this year to date.

The 26-year-old has made three consecutive cuts and looks to be hitting a bit of a hot streak.

Helped along by some polished approach play and soft hands around the green, if Meissner can minimise his time with the putter effectively, he could be in for a career-high performance in the Lone Star State.
